My name is Martin Kilkie and I provide all science and mathematics tutorials for the service. I limit myself to no more than 10 students in any one year and early contact is recommended to guarantee the timeslot you prefer.
I live on the outskirts of Gravesend and I prefer to tutor in Gravesend and its nearby districts (Shorne, Meopham, Ash Green, Istead Rise etc.) not only for my sanity but also to provide as many tutor hours as I can.
I have degrees in Microbiology (Glasgow) and Biochemistry (Cambridge). I am a qualified teacher (DFE 1980) and have taught in secondary schools all over london. I have worked with and in more than 200 different secondary schools. I have taught sciences, mathematics and computing in schools to A level standard.
In 1997 I became an Ofsted inspector and took part in many school inspections. I have co-authored a number of examination schemes from GCSE- A level and National Curriculum (KS3 and KS4).
I began tutoring in 1980 and have decades of experience of 1:1 teaching. This is the purest form of teaching that allows me to help the individual understand all the concepts and skills needed, without time constraints and classroom numbers interverning.
As with all Gravesend Tutorial Services tutors I only provide tutoring in subjects I am confident and competent to deliver. I tutor Sciences (separate and combined) in KS3,GCSE and A level.
I am also experienced and proficient in the teaching of study skills, examination technique and motivation and build these into my tutorials.
